Dietetic practice Aileen de Vogel has chosen NOT to enter into contracts with health insurers.

After your consultation, you will receive an invoice to pay the dietitian. You can then submit this to your health insurer; depending on your policy, you may be reimbursed up to 100%. There are four types of policies: budget, *natura* (contracted care), combination, and *restitutie* (reimbursement) policies. Budget and *natura* policies are cheaper, but the reimbursement is often slightly lower—averaging 65–85%. The *restitutie* policy is slightly more expensive, but it typically offers 100% reimbursement. Check your policy for the specific terms and conditions that apply to you.

Reimbursement by the health insurer can take place in two ways: through the basic insurance and through supplementary insurance.

Reimbursement for dietary counseling under the basic health insurance plan.

Three hours of dietary counseling per year are reimbursed for everyone under the basic health insurance plan*. Dietary counseling for individuals aged 18 or older is subject to the mandatory deductible. In 2026, the mandatory deductible is €385,–.

Reimbursement for dietary counseling under supplementary insurance.

If you have supplementary insurance for dietary counseling, more than three hours may be covered. These additional hours do not count towards your mandatory excess (deductible). Coverage may be defined in terms of a specific number of hours or a monetary amount. Please note that the service must be listed as “dietary advice” or “dietetics,” rather than general “nutritional advice.” Additionally, different conditions may apply to non-contracted dietetic services. You can check your health insurance policy terms to see what applies in your case.

“Do I need a referral?”

To qualify for reimbursement, a referral from a GP or specialist is sometimes required. If your policy is with CZ, OHRA, Nationale Nederlanden, Ditzo, Eucare, or Salland, you ALWAYS need a referral. In other cases, you can often come to me directly; I will then perform an initial screening (Direct Access) to determine whether it is safe and appropriate to start treatment. Always check your policy terms and conditions to see if a referral is required.
